Kanzaburo Nakamura, you were the best artist I'm sure.

Hello! I haven't written a topic for a while. It's already December, this year is going to finish soon.

Yesterday Japanese Kabuki artist, Kanzaburo Nakamura passed away. He was still 57 years old. I was really shocked to hear the news. It seemed that he was a person to become a living national treasure of Japan.

He tried to play not only traditional kabuki but modern musicals or stage plays. He wanted to spread traditional Japanese entertainment to the young people too, so played new type of kabuki which translated in colloquial style.Because kabuki whose words were from Edo period that's why it is difficult to understand even Japanese.

He was loved by everyone. One actor had an interview on the phone on TV program yesterday. He was talking about his memories in the beginning but in the middle of it he started to sob then suddenly stopped talking. I knew how he felt.

Kanzaburo also had played kabuki in America and England. He always faced new field while keeping a conservative society of kabuki. It is a shame we lost him. Good-by Kanzaburo!!
